For a very long period the rolling paper booklet
market was fully closed and occupied by 4 well known big players. This was
possible as the key, to enter this market, is the machinery. To counter this
principle monopoly, BeMade was founded in 2005. Before Luc Van de Perre started BeMade he has been
working in the tobacco industry for more than 20 years as process developer
and as production director. With this background knowledge he knew that
format flexible machinery should make it possible for new players to enter
this market. For building machinery it is not only necessary to
have background knowledge of the industry but BeMade also decided to start
with in-house production to be able to optimize the machinery till 2010. With
this production experience also some product patents were filed and approved
in that period. From 2010 up till today the range of products has
been expanding without changing the base machine as the full range of formats
was known at the start. In the mean time we no longer produce booklets and
are fully occupied with machine development. To build our machinery we work
closely together with external companies so that we can stay small,
concentrated on the development and startup of our machines. We do not have a service revenue model but are
giving the customer all needed tools so that he can get local or build
in-house support. If the customer agrees on confidentiality and
technology protection we are prepared to sell our knowledge and developments
to reach that goal. Even if you want to build your own machinery in the long
run I’m convinced that we can find an agreement. |
